Wow! Wow! Wow! Is all I can say about this Vintage MCM Oil Painting! This Mid-Century artist has not only mastered the style of the time, but has major skills with the use of colors. By bringing out the colors he sees in the buildings in the light and the buildings in the shadows; and by using darker colors in the foreground and lighter in the background, we clearly feel mood and direction. The exaggeration of colors almost makes one feel a sense of exhilaration just to be there.
The intensity of the blues, yellows, and purples are clearly hyperbole to the real life scene before him. But his use of these colors feels good to us because he has truly mastered a sort of balance of the colors with the mood and the feeling of being there.
Clearly, this piece is impressionistic. It’s superbly done and would make for an eye-catching, conversation-starting centerpiece to any room. This would make a great heirloom piece. It measures 28 x 21 in a handsome frame. Your room deserves this!
